Melanie Culhane is a graduate assistant at the University of Mississippi where she is pursuing her masters in music degree in Vocal Performance. She recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi with her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. She is from Memphis, Tennessee and is an active member of the Dream Team at Living Music Resource™. She currently studies with Nancy Maria Balach. Most recently, she performed the role of Nancy in “Albert Herring” by Benjamin Britten with the University of Mississippi Opera Theatre. She has also performed in the University of Mississippi Opera Theatre’s full-scale productions of “L’enfant et les sortilèges” and “Der Schauspieldirektor” (double-bill production), “Hamlet: Prince of Denmark” (world premiere), “L’elisir d’amore” and “The Merry Wives of Windsor.” She works as a Choral Scholar for First Presbyterian Church of Oxford. She has participated in Druid City Opera Workshop, Miami Music Festival, and Musiktheater Bavaria Opera Workshop as a young artist.
Lacey Hindman is a Vocal Performance major at the University of Mississippi, where she receives choral, opera, and vocal scholarships. Lacey recently performed the role of Emmie in “Albert Herring” at Ole Miss, as well as the role of Beatrice in “Beatrice et Benedict” and Laurie in “The Tender Land” during the Opera Scenes Program. Lacey has toured Europe performing with the University of MS Chorus and Concert Singers. She continued her European adventures with The University of Mississippi Opera Theatre in Prague, where she performed in the world premiere of the opera “Hamlet Prince of Denmark.” This past summer she joined Chicago Summer Opera performing the role of Second Woman in “Dido & Aeneas.” Lacey Hindman is thrilled to be assisting professor Nancy Maria Balach for this season of LMR.
Faith Janicki is a Junior Vocal Music Education major who’s ready to start another LMR season! From a military family, she’s seen her fair share of states and says Mississippi is the closest to home. You can usually find her somewhere in the music building or The Powerhouse in Oxford involved in theatre. Music and Theatre have always been imperative parts of her life and she is excited to share it with the Oxford community.
Jocelyn Sanabria is a senior Vocal Performance major at The University of Mississippi. She was most recently seen in the Cole Porter classic “Anything Goes” as Reno Sweeney and The University of Mississippi’s Opera Theatre’s production of “Albert Herring” as Cissy Woodger. She spent this past summer directing “Aladdin Jr.” with an amazing group of kids. Jocelyn is thrilled to be joining the Dream Team and is ready for an exciting year with LMR.
Ava Street is a junior Music Education major at the University of Mississippi. Ava is from Purvis, Mississippi and began her performance career in 2009 with the Purvis Show Choir Program. Her passion for music and theatre grew during her involvement with the Hattiesburg Civic Light Opera and Purvis High School‘s Spring Musicals. At the University of Mississippi, Ava is a member of Ole Miss Choir, The Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, and Kappa Delta- Alpha MuSorority. This year she is thrilled to add Living Music Resource™ Dream Team to her list!
Hadassah J. Strong is a senior Vocal Music Education major from Clarksdale, Mississippi and an Ole Miss Women’s Council for Philanthropy Scholar. She also serves as the social chair for the The Columns Society and is an active member of the Omicron Delta KappaHonor Society, Ole Miss Choir, Black Student Union, and Lambda Sigma Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In her free time, Hadassah loves to read (mostly Christian fiction) and play with her dog Purple.
